Druze restaurant

After the shooting we went to eat in a Druze restaurant in Pqiin.
This is what the starters look like.
Doesn't it make you hungry?

Gamila from the Galilee

I went to visit Grandmother Gamila.
Gamila is a Drusie woman who inherited beauty secrets from her ancestors.
She started making soaps at home and now she has a big factory.

A modern Cinderella story
You can buy her soaps all over the world
And in her village Pqiin ,too.

Close ups

When it comes to close ups you have to be very precise.

These posters for Ginger are 2.40 meters tall and are placed behind the counters in the stores

Which enables a real good look.
So we worked very very precisely on the make up and then delicately on the photo shop editing.
The make up artist is Ondine Paz
And the photo shop artist, this time  is me :)

Björk's inspiration

I have shot this picture a few years ago ,exactly at this time of the year.
The inspiration was Björk's music ,full of forest creatures.
We have shot it in Israel, though, where there is not much of a forest :)
I have done a lot of location scouting and found this little paradise at Mount Carmel.
The picture was published in the weekend supplement of Maariv

.

People who make us happy

This is the first spread from the new Yael Orgad catalog.

The concept of the catalog is the people we have in our lives that make us happy.
In this photograph you see a mother and daughter.
I think that they are lovely.

Hungarian Ladies in Tel -Aviv

Hungarians love playing cards ,and they take it very seriously.
My mother and her friends play like gunmen from the wild west.Being old ladies it's pretty funny to watch ,and a bit scary too.
This is one of their many games I have documented.

Self Esteem

These are a few images from behind the scenes of a 2 day project with a group of girls from a youth club in a weak neighborhood.
The aim of the project was self empowerment.
As you can see we had lots of fun and also ,I think ,meaningful results.

The Tourist

I've always liked the image of the tourist in fashion stories.
The tourist has a naive flair and leaves a lot of space around.
I find the tourist image a bit funny , too.
This is my latest take on the subject.
The pictures were taken around the newly renovated Jaffa port.

The Old City , Jerusalem

The Old City in Jerusalem is really exciting, and since I live in Tel -Aviv ,which is very modern and hip ,each visit is like time travel.

The new Israeli Proletarians

There is always something new in Tel -Aviv.
The new farmers market at the TLV port is great !

We went there yesterday evening and met the food guru - Sherry Ansky at her new fish kiosk.
Helping her is the well renowned Isreali art curator - Sarah Breitberg Semel.
The new Israeli proletarians :)
