כשנפגשתי עם אלישע לתכנן את צילומי הקמפיין שלו היו לו שתי בקשות :

1. לצלם על רקע כהה.

2. לצלם את ורדית סימני.

את ורדית פגשתי לפני כשנה באירוע חגיגי במקרה והיא הרשימה אותי מאוד.

 פשניסטה אקסטרווגנטית, מאוד יפה ומאוד עדינה ועם סגנון אישי מובהק. כך שישר חשבתי שזה רעיון מצוין. לצלם אשה שהיא לקוחה של אלישע, אוהבת את הבגדים שלו, דמות מעניינת - טיפוס, כמו שנהוג לומר.

בנוגע לבקשה השניה התלבטנו.

רקע כהה נוטה לעתים קרובות ״להסתם״ גם על גבי המחשב וכמובן בדפוס. נחשב ל״מסוכן״.

אבל אלישע אמר שהשחור כרקע יאיר ויחזק את הצבעוניות של הדגמים, היה מלא בטחון, והאתגר הלהיב אותי.

דנו אם לצלם בחוץ בלילה או בחלל כהה.

האפשרות הראשונה נפסלה מהר כי היה ברור שבטמפרטורות של אוגוסט עדיף לעבוד במזגן.

התחלנו לחפש חללים כהים. מבצע לא פשוט בישראל.

אלישע הראה לי השראות והרעיון התגבש לצילומים של אשה בבודואר (חדר הלבשה) שלה, עם חפצים צבעוניים שונים פזורים סביבה (בגדים נוספים).

בדקנו כמה בתי מלון וגם בתים פרטיים עם קירות מחופים בעץ כהה עד שנזכרתי שבחנות הרהיטים טולמנס יש חלל שחור מושלם.

קיבלנו אישור לצלם במקום וקבענו יום צילום.

כשהתחלנו לעבוד על הסט פיזרנו מסביב לספה ועל פרגוד אביזרים צבעוניים. אבל זה נראה מבולגן מדי- העין שוטטה ולא ידעה במה להתמקד.

הורדנו וניקינו עד שהגענו לסט שחור כמעט לגמרי.

החלטנו שבכל הצילומים יהיו אביזרים שחורים. שחור על שחור. גוונים של שחור, חוץ מהדמות הבוהקת בצבעוניותה.

לתאורה בחרתי בפלאש ישיר עם ביוטי דיש, כדי להעמיק את הצבעים ולא ליצור צללים מיותרים. בחירה שעלולה להקנות לצילום מראה ״פשוט״, אבל סמכתי על התוכן , הבגדים והדוגמנית, שיהיו אקסטרה איכותיים.

 בנוסף ריככתי קצת את הפלאש עם פלאש נוסף חלש עם מיטריה שהוצב צמוד לפלאש הראשון.

לשיער ולאיפור החלטנו ללכת על מראה אקסטרווגנטי ומוגזם, בהשראת ורדית עצמה.

When I met with Elisha to plan his campaign, he had two requests:
1. To shoot on a dark background.
2. To shoot the Vardit Simani.
I met Vardit about a year ago at an event and she impressed me very much. An extravagant, very beautiful and very delicate fashionista, with a clear personal style. So I thought it was a great idea. To photograph a woman who is a customer of Elisha, loves his clothes, an interesting figure - a character, as is commonly said.
Regarding the first request, we deliberated.
A dark background often tends to "restrain" both on the computer and of course in print. Considered "dangerous."
But Elisha said that black as a background would light up the colors of the clothes. He was confident, and the challenge excited me.
We discussed whether to shoot outdoors at night or in a dark space indoors.
The first option was quickly disqualified because it was clear that in August's temperatures it was better to work in the air conditioner.
I began to look for dark spaces. 
Elisha showed me some inspirational references and the idea of the session crystallized : a woman in her dressing room, with various colored objects scattered around her (more clothes).
We checked some hotels and private houses with dark-wood walls until I remembered that the Tollmans furniture store had a perfect black space.
We received a permit to take photographs and set a day of shooting.***
When we started working on the set, we scattered around the sofa and on a screen colorful accessories. But it seemed too messy, the eye didn't stop wandering and did not know what to focus on.
We took everything down and cleaned out the colors until we reached an almost completely black set. ***

We decided that all the photographs would have black accessories. Black on black. Shades of black, all except for the glittering figure/ model.
For lighting I chose a direct flash with Beauty Dish, to deepen the colors and to not create unnecessary shadows. A choice that might give the photograph a "simple" look, but I trusted the content, the clothes and the model, to be extra fine. In addition, I softened the flash a bit more with a weak flash bounced with an umbrella.
For hair and makeup we decided to go for an extravagant and exaggerated look, inspired by Vardit herself.

Oren Dar, the stylist, chose to use colorfull gloves and head scarves.
