cafe tabac - beta & grega

Ever since I saw this place I had it in mind as a potential location.
As a non smoker I was ironically impressed by it's pro smoking attitude.
It just seems like the coolest , most bohemian spot in Tel -Aviv at the moment.
So when i did a fashion story about a gallery owner ,this Thursday ,I've naturally used it.
The frame I'm uploading is from the making of.
I'll show the whole story once it had been published

Shuk Hacarmel - The Tel-Aviv Market - Hacarmel Market

Shuk Hacarmel is the main market in Tel -Aviv.
You can find there everything : from fruit and vegetables to cloths and jewelry.
The nice thing about it is that it is open in the evening too and the hotter it gets the later it stays open.
I took there these shots this week - as a preparation for a night session about Tel -Aviv.

Gentle Sexiness

These are a few images I have recently shot in my studio looking for the essence of the term sexy.
I was trying to get a sexy feeling without getting vulgar.
The models bear minimal make up and the photos bear minimal digital art work.
The styling is gently influenced by rock &roll , religion and very soft s&m.
Just hints.

the weather

I shot this fashion story in Calonico ( The Italian part of Swiss) last summer. It was raining but still a beautiful day.

Yesterday I saw the same spot on Daya's ( one of the models in the shoot) facebook

Amazing.

Adaya

Every few years I have a favorite model.

An art director friend of mine joked once that if I like a model I will try to use her for male roles too.

Well ,this is not true but I do try to promote a model if I like her looks and she/he is interesting to cooperate with.

This is Adaya -she was my favorite 10 years ago .

I wonder what she is doing nowadays.

My daughters

I have two daughters.
I photograph them as a mother- each step and each smile, and as a photographer - a thousand clicks ,each step and each smile .
Every now and then I photograph them for my projects.

I started using Rona in fashion shoots when she was 1 year old ,more or less.
In this photo she is 6 years old , I think. Which makes it 11 years ago. Wow!

I photographed Mandy , the little one ,in my projects , from a very young age.

But this picture is the only one in which I photographed them both together.

It was the coldest day of the year and the whole crew was bundled in winter coats and hats.
Only my two little girls were modeling the summer clothes of Comme Il Faut.
When I work I have no mercy.:)
Little Mandy is a natural model , and Rona has moved behind the camera already.

a photographer's view

My favorite hotel in Jerusalem is St Andrew's Scottish Guest House.

I spent there 3 days this summer when I came to photograph the works of the fresh graduates of the Bezalel Academy of art.
The modest hotel is located right in the center of town , next to all the cafes ,bars ,restaurants and the cinemateque, so in the evening after a day's work you can go easily out where ever you choose and you are not stuck in the bar of your hotel.
Although the place is very central it is extremely quite and has a lovely local garden. The breakfast is great too.
But it is the view - that makes this hotel unique.
From your hotel room you can see one of the most beautiful sights in the world - the walls of the old city of Jerusalem. And they are painted in a different color each hour of the day.

Last month I spent a weekend , with my family, in Jerusalem, and I couldn't help taking this picture from the balcony of our room:

You are welcome to see the work I did for Bezalel on the site of the academy - Miri Davidovitz for Bezalel
