העובדה שאני צלמת נותנת לי גישה לכל המקומות והאנשים שמעניינים אותי
או שאולי זה בדיוק ההפך והסקרנות שלי שגורמת לי להכנס לכל חדר מדרגות,לפתוח כל דלת,ולהקשיב בעניין לכל אדם,היא שהפכה אותי לצלמת
כך או כך,הייתי עסוקה בצילומים אחרים בכלל,כשנפתחה הדלת שכבר שנים היתה סגורה
ישר שאלתי אם אפשר להכנס,כמובן
מנזר וכנסיה קופטים (הכנסיה הנוצרית של מצרים),במצב גרוע ביותר,אבל יפה כבית רפאים שקפא בנקודת זמן מסויימת והחיים בו השתתקו.חלקה שופץ לאחרונה בגלל גל הסודנים והאריתראים שמגיעים להתפלל.במנזר גרים כמה נזירים,שיוצאים לעבוד בחוץ,ונזיר אחד זקן ששוהה תמיד במקום ושומר עליו
המגורים רק בקומה התחתונה כי העליונה במצב רעוע ומסוכן
הכנסיה הקטנה שבחצר,זכתה ממש לאחרונה לשיפוץ צבעוני והיא שוקקת חיים מחדש בסוף השבוע .פלא קטן
המנזר יושב בנקודה הגבוהה ביותר ביפו ובחצר שלו נמצא מאגר מים ששימש לפנים את השכונה והיום הוא נטוש והרוס ,כמוהו גם חדר המשאבות. רק נול ומחט חסרים כדי לדמיין את היפהפיה הנרדמת הקופטית

The fact that I am a photographer gives me access to all the places and people that interest me.
Or maybe it's just the opposite and my curiosity that makes me enter any stairway, open every door, and listen to the stories of the people I meet, that's what made me a photographer.
Either way, I was busy with other photos,when the door that has been closed for years - opened .
Straight away I've asked whether I could enter the gate.It led to a Coptic monastery and church (Christian Church of Egypt) in very bad state, but pretty as a ghost castle frozen in time .Some parts of it have recently been renovated because of the wave of Sudanese and Eritreans who come to pray.
A few monks live in the monastery. They leave to work outside every day, and one older monk stays in always, to take care and keep the place.
The residents use the downstairs only,because the top is in a bad condition and dangerous.
The little chapel in the yard, has been recently renovated colorfully and is full of life again in the weekend .A small miracle.
The monastery sits at the highest point in Jaffa and has the water reservoir in it's yard,which used to serve the neighborhood.Today it is destroyed, as well as the pump room.Only missing a needle and loom to imagine Coptic Sleeping Beauty.
